Kevin L. Maynus has been a resident of southern West Virginia
all his life, and has been a Raleigh County citizen since 1976.
In 1989 Kevin graduated from the West Virginia School for the Blind in Romney.
In 1995 Kevin graduated from Fairmont State College with degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology.
In 1996 Kevin worked as the Director and Grant Writer for the Raleigh County Coalition on Disabilities.
In 1997 Kevin began working for Mountain State Centers for Independent Living (MTSTCIL) as a Systems Advocacy
Specialist.
In 1998 Kevin earned a M.A.E. from the University of Alabama Birmingham in Special Education.
In 2004 Kevin was selected to serve on Governor Manchin's Transition team.
As an advocate for MTSTCIL, one of Kevin's responsibilities is to monitor and lobby/advocate at
the West Virginia legislature. Over the past eight years, Kevin has worked with present and past legislators
on vital issues that affect all citizens living in the state of West Virginia. Kevin has worked on issues including
public education, public transportation, Medicaid, Medicare, health care for senior citizens and children. Kevin
has also lobbied the legislature on disability rights, assistive technology, and employment.
